Proof: Sunshine Does Not Cause Skin Cancer
Media outlets, purveyors of sunscreen and even select medical doctors insist that sunshine and/or ozone depletion is the primary cause of skin cancer. Not true.
Sun exposure and ozone depletion will never be the primary contributors to skin cancer. I know this to be true by studying those populations that live in areas with severe UVB exposure, namely those locations near the equator. Follow me on this one. You’ll never fear sunshine again and you’ll be closer to learning the true cause of skin cancer.
As you travel from pole to equator, UV exposure increases by a whopping 5,000%! This is due to the changing angle that the sun’s rays penetrate the atmosphere. Ozone depletion increases in UV exposure by a paltry 20%. If UVB exposure and ozone depletion were the cause of skin cancer those populations living close to the equator would be eaten alive with malignant melanoma. Yet the opposite is true!
There is a decrease in the rates of malignant melanoma among people who live in regions of strong UVB exposure! That’s right, contrary to what media and sunscreen makers dictate, the sun is not the producer of a death ray! So what is the biggest cause of skin cancer?
