Fat Burning HIT Meal #4: Crock-Pot Roast with Brussels Sprouts
This meal is wonderful for the busy family. Put the roast on in the morning and dinner is almost ready when you get home. If time permits, a nice baked, sweet potato would finish this meal off nicely.
Ingredients for Roast:
3-5 pound roast
Salt and pepper
1 clove garlic, sliced
2 medium onions, sliced
2 bay leaves
1 whole clove (optional)
1 cup water
2 tablespoons soy sauce
Prep: 15 minutes
Cook: Approximately 10 hours
Servings: Family
Directions For Roast:
Rub roast with salt and pepper.
Make small slits in roast and insert slices of garlic.
Put 1 sliced onion in bottom of crock-pot.
Place roast on top of onion and add other ingredients.
Cover and cook on low for about 10 hours.
Ingredients for Brussels Sprouts
1 lb Brussels sprouts
6 slices of thick cut nitrate-free bacon, cut in pieces
Salt and pepper to taste
Prep: 10 minutes ( you can save time if you purchase the pre cut Brussels sprouts )
Cook: About 10 minutes
Directions for Brussels Sprouts:
Place cut bacon in hot fry pan.
While bacon is cooking, wash and slice in half the Brussels sprouts.
Add sprouts to bacon and continue cooking until sprouts are soft but slightly firm.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper as needed
